Service Unit 646 is especially proud of our award winning annual volunteer led Day Camp, held for one week each summer in June or July. During this week Girl Scouts from LZSU646 and their friends join us for a week of themed activities at Mary Ann Beebe Center, our local GSNI campground.
During their week at camp the girls connect with other Girl Scouts from around the service unit while they explore camp, earn badgework, cook over a fire, participate adventure activities and more. They sing songs on the bus, make crafts and start friendships that they renew every year at the next Day Camp. Juniors and above are even offered the opportunity to stay overnight one day of the week and tent camp.
This camp is also a great opportunity for our older Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts to serve as camp counselors, PAs, and gain the leadership experience that comes with planning, organizing and facilitating camp.
